OK I’m running a tournament at Battleground 2024! Scramble! BRS at Battleground 2024 and I need some more bloody players or Douglas Glover and the rest of the Lead Pursuit team will frankly point, laugh and use some “hilarious” memes at us Brits for not being able to organise a p*ssup in a brewery. This is the ultimate open goal for them, a…[Read more]

Renko replied to the topic Someone please tell me the dive bomber aircraft traits? in the forum Blood Red Skies 1 year, 2 months ago
It’s not a trait as such – if your plane has the dive bomber designation it can make dive bomb attacks

The Cunning Plan and reality
I had an idea to run a narrative Blood Red Skies event in August – and as Adlertag (Eagle Day-the first day proper of the Battle of Britain was 15th August and the nearest available Sunday was the 13th, I was damned well going to do it then. This of course showed an almost Goering like ignorance of reality. Not only i…[Read more] -

Jet applies to enemy aircraft within range of the Jet if you are talking about the “no climb” bubble – non Jets don’t get the free climb on activation

Hi William
You’re not missing anything, it’s just the game has developed. Initially when the expansion sets were released the idea was these were to allow players to use 3rd party or proxy models until Warlord caught up. When it came around to releasing the A6M2 model Andy took the opportunity to introduce a new trait – No Stalling – which better…[Read more]

Renko replied to the topic Where can I get Ace cards? in the forum Blood Red Skies 1 year, 8 months ago
Hi – if you mean the Ace Skills – such as “Killer Instinct” etc theyre not available separately. There were seven released with the original Battle of Britain starter set – Lightning Reaction, Accurate, Slippery, Tactical Wizard, Overshoot, Master Tactician & True Grit. The Midway starter set doesn’t include any, but it does include a much…[Read more]

Yes – think of Boom Chits as “significant emotional events” such as 20mm cannon shells passing your cockpit 🙂

Hi Mark
Cant really comment without knowing the planes and pilot skills. Where you playing to a points total?
Just speculating from now on but……….
If you have poor pilots and a low FP landing a hit can be problematic- particularly against a Robust opponent like an FW, however even then he should burn through his “Robust” cards pretty…[Read more]

Hmm – the answer is “almost”. You get the planes, boom chits, other markers, clouds etc, expanded rules and the like. What you don’t get in comparison to Midway is the Theatre & Doctrine cards. These are available as “The Ops Room” card deck from Warlord though tbh you don’t need them to get started. The main issue with the bundle is the notorious…[Read more]

The fighters are centre stage. You can get a good bomber game running with some of the Air Strike scenarios but fighters are the stars

No problem. People get hung up on bombers a bit – we tried to come up with some way to put them in scenarios with points but it just got too complex and open to abuse. It’s still open to abuse, but that’s the nature of some players 🙂

Renko replied to the topic Aircraft Cards in the forum Blood Red Skies 2 years, 11 months ago
The bombers are totally free – however they’re only available in bomber scenarios. Unless there is any special circumstances they’re all Pilot Skill 3, which when carrying theor bombs and torps reduces to PS2 due to the “Laden” trait
Yes an unnamed Ace in a Wildcat is 123 points – there are “named Aces” coming that have 2 Ace skills but they tend…[Read more]

It’s the points for use in qames with points totals – note the B5N is incorrect and should read (-)
Most games are 500pts split between pilot crew quality and aircraft points as shown on the cards
