Hi Andrew,
sorry you’ve been having problems with this, you should be able to use the new code immediately. I’m not sure why it wasn’t enabled against your account – we’re looking into that now – but I have manually enabled your account so you are now able to use the Member discount. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Cavalry can double their Move for one action per phase, so they do move faster than infantry. They also gain +1 Armour and +1 Wound (and while these should be included in some stat-lines, they have been missed from some), so I think that might answer the second part of your question too.
August 12, 2019 at 10:14 am #166726Richard CoatesParticipantHi Bruno, my understanding of that you get your full parries for each action. I’ve talked to the most prolific SPQR player in our office and he also agreed, but please don;t consider that an ‘official’ Warlord answer – those only come from the creator.
August 7, 2019 at 12:08 pm #166443Richard CoatesParticipantHi Michal,
I understand your question, and the confusion, but I can only answer to extent of my knowledge. They have the same effect but different costs because that’s how the designer wanted it to be – I’m afraid I have no insight into the reasoning behind this.
From a wargaming point of view, there is no reason to take leather armour instead of a helmet, other than if your models do not have helmets but might have armour and you want to reflect the appearance of the models in their stats.
That might not be an ideal answer, but essentially I’d take the helmets, ignore the armour and move on with your game.
August 7, 2019 at 10:51 am #166424Richard CoatesParticipantHi Michal,
the differing prices for equipment that has the same game effect is not a mistake, it is as the designer intended. There is a Frequently Asked Questions document that addresses this and other similar questions.

Not sure if there are any hero skills etc. that affect the Dice of Fate and would either need ignored or reworked to suit the different initiative method, but you could probably just avoid those.

While it’s obviously great if people play both and have an interactive narrative between the two, we don’t want BRS-only players to feel like they have to get hold of the Korea book in order to play within that theatre.

July 31, 2019 at 3:29 pm #165962Richard CoatesParticipantYes, superglue will be perfectly fine to use on Warlord Resin.
July 31, 2019 at 10:32 am #165930Richard CoatesParticipantHi Nigel,
yes indeed, the archers in the starter set are Warlord Resin. It is different to other types of resin, including the resin that Warlord uses for tanks and other large models, with different properties. It does bend slightly where other resins are more likely to just snap off.
All of the SPQR branded miniatures will either be plastic or resin.
July 30, 2019 at 2:44 pm #165887Richard CoatesParticipantHi Nigel,
sorry you’re not a fan of the new Warlord Resin. It is definitely not like the plastic Airfix used so you’re concerns about paint etc. are unnecessary, but as it’s a replacement for metal rather than standard plastic you’re right that polystyrene cement isn’t going to work. Warlord Resin is going to be used instead of metal for the SPQR range, and others going forwards. This article might provide you with some more detailed answers to your questions – Warlord Resin – A New Material.
Of course, many miniatures in the SPQR range continue to be available in metal as part of our existing Hail Caesar range, so that’s also an option.

We try to get as many as we can on our website, but it relies on the stores or organisers giving us enough information about them to post them up on our events page: https://www.warlordgames.com/events/
July 28, 2019 at 3:13 pm #165797Richard CoatesParticipantTo answer your second question, I understand the intent of the recent D-Day event held at Warlord was no avoid Blue on Blue and to only allow armies that were present at that time and place. I can’t comment on how close to that aim the reality was as I didn’t attend, but I think there are probably plenty of people interested in that kind of event.
July 26, 2019 at 10:00 am #165684Richard CoatesParticipant@Brutus74 There are numerous such empires in many different periods and the book is primarily army lists and army-specific scenarios as it is! You probably can’t get away with using the Macedonia list as Ptolemaic Egypt, but hopefully we’ll get to all these other armies at some point. If you’re thinking of New Kingdom Egypt or earlier, you might want to checkout the Bronze Age book for Hail Caesar, which does have a skirmish system for that period.
July 24, 2019 at 1:03 pm #165555Richard CoatesParticipantYes, that is correct. Presumably the shield is primarily of use against missile fire.
