Hi All,
I just received my Roman Legion box and I’ve been studying up on how to represent an army. A Roman sprue can make a hastai base, a principes base, a triarii base and a Velites base. Also one commander and two light cavalry figures and two medium cavalry figures. Now two sprues will much a unit each of the four infantry types but WL’s…[Read more]

Watching 7th Son YouTube channel maniples are two bases, so a Roman legion will be 60 bases in heavy infantry and 20 bases of light infantry. So 20 sprues! Cav is five models to a base and two bases to a unit so in 20 sprues there will be 4 units of heavy and light Roman cavalry.

I’m new to HC and my interest has been peaked by Epic so working on the Manipular model of republican romans where there are 10 units of Velites, Hastati and Principles and 5 of Triarii. Is a unit (maniple) one base? That would be only 10 frames 🙂

Richard

Brett,
As a fellow Aussie I feel you pain, I don’t buy my figs anymore I print them. The distributor here in AUD treats as if we are mugs (and we aren’t 40K players) 🙂
Warlords need to stop treating AUD and NZ like it’s treasure island. I have a whole DoW 1812 army ready to print from a great graphic artist. The figs and poses are better than…[Read more]

Hi All,
I’ve just joined a local group that have started with Epic Napoleonic’s, they was an interesting conservation starter posted.
I haven’t tried yet but apparently cavalry hang over the front and back of the 20mm wide bases so 60 x 30mm bases have been suggested.
Also for the look it’s been suggested heavy cavalry use 6 minis per stand…[Read more]

With Allies what are the restrictions, could I pull out a French Heavy Cavalry Brigade and not worry about the restrictions in the French list?

Thanks Nat,
I thought that would b e the case so, it’s pretty difficult to create a DoW list without Allies.

Hi All,
On pg 167 of CoE is the DoW list, I don’t know how you could ever make a all Polish 1,000 list.
For a start 2 infantry brigades max, the 4th battalion was a depot unit and having a brigade of eight is hard to keep in control range of general.
I would make regiments of 3 (historically correct as well), regiment gun for each regiment,…[Read more]

I think the rules are clear, the cavalry attack column is the remaining stands behind the Leader stand as per your picture. Not that that make sense, when we play 28mm we have two ranks of six figures.

I purchased the French epic battles starter and the infantry sprues have about 50:50 greatcoats v uniform. I have never been a fan of greatcoat on mini’s to me it’s lazy.
What are ppl doing? Having mixed uniforms in each battalion (hiding greatcoats in the second rank)? I’m thinking of splitting them out and having battalions of greatcoats and…[Read more]

Hi All, I’m a little confused, comes with age :(, I want to try BRS and I notice the rules are Air Strike. How are the rules in Battle of Midway aligned to the Air Strike rules? If I get Midway would I need to buy the Air Strike rules? I note you can get Midway at a reduced price using points, what would be the best way to start in this game?

Thanks Warren for your reply, btw that link doesn’t work ….. can you please post the subject for the thread.
Also what scale are you printing for 15mm, I’m using 92% for 28mm.
I agree the models from that KS are great, the Uhlan are being delivered this weekend 🙂

I don’t think the number changes just the size so 4,6,8. Could be wrong.

Hi all, I’ve been playing Black Powder on and off for a year, using other’s figures. I’m keen on French 1812 campaign. I have purchased 750 pts worth of French from Front Rank before sales. Expensive shipped to Australia 🤨 I then saw a Kickstarter of Grand Duchy of Warsaw, I have a resin print so I’m going Poles instead of French😀. My questio…[Read more]
