The main mis-step so far has been the decision to go with the P-51Ds in the launch wave, rather than something more iconically PTO like wildcats, Hellcats, or corsairs. (well that and the fact the “BF109E”s are actually 109Cs.)
Wings of Glory has struggled with the same “deep vs wide” issue, and it’s kind of insoluable without releasing everything at once – everyone has their own preferred area of focus, and gets put out when they have to wait for releases or homebrew it. this is reasonable, (and even as a brit, I’;d have preferred a different setting for the starter – normandy, perhaps – but spitfires sell.)
