Greatcoats were a “great” way of uniforming troops cheaply, used a lot as supplies became stretched. All in one unit would be a good way of representing lower quality troops
For the same reason there are 5,000,000 games on Stalingrad ….
Just do them the same as you would on the fantasy/sci fi, there’s no reason they would be any different
