  • They should be treated as in separate buildings, so they get hard cover. You imagine the units are hiding behind furniture, cupboards etc.  You can also agree with your opponent that such cover are soft cover if you want.

All models that can draw line of sight to the target unit can fire. So as long as they can see each other, all models should…[Read more]

    BUILDINGS WITH MULTIPLE FLOORS/SECTIONS
In the Bolt Action rulebook, buildings which suffer 10 or more hits from HE are destroyed completely and turned into rubble (HE Weapons Against Buildings, page 124). These rules were largely envisioned to be applied to small buildings, such as single-family residences. However,…[Read more]

  • Ah I see you mean for all the 3 MGs to have 360° arc of fire. I am guessing it will make the M3 too powerful with all 3 MGs firing simultaneously in the same arc, so currently only the 2 added MMGs can fire at the same target in the rear arc. It might also conflict with the platform mounted rules which allow a 360° firing arc as the 3 MGs are n…[Read more]

  • Latest FAQ:

If I shoot at a unit of artillery that has only one or two crew models
left, does the ‘small team’ to-hit modifier apply or not?

The small team rule applies to units made of one or two infantry models (implying ‘and nothing else’, which should have been stated clearly). So, so as long as there is also a gun model, that unit is not…[Read more]

  • Good point, I play Soviets as well but never noticed that as I am not a fan of anti-tank guns, prefering to pay more points for tanks instead. I just checked the FAQ and did not see any errata, so they are 2-man teams, benefiting from the “small team” added bonus when target by enemies.

  • Bolt Action 2nd Edtion page 114:

Transport vehicles have a minimal crew, so they can only fire one of the weapons they are equipped with. If they are equipped with more than one weapon, these can be fired only if the vehicle is carrying/towing a unit whose members act as weapon crew – each weapon being fired needs one man to operate it. If the v…[Read more]

I think they are similar to pillboxes, except they are made of metal and can be moved manually using horsedrawn carriages, so I guess the “closest official” rules are Bolt Action rules 2nd Edition page 127:

The following rules cover bunkers, pillboxes and all other reinforced buildings specifically designed to protect soldiers from enemy…[Read more]

  • Haha I think I know which manufacturer you are referring to 😂 I am eagerly waiting for their twin bazooka armoured Willys jeep kit (need to get it with their new re-released Willys jeep), although I have already “kit-bashed” 2 using the Warlord Armoured jeep and 4 spare bazookas from my US weapons sprues.

I will order the new kits together with…[Read more]

  • The change in currancy acceptance and the related exchange rate may not be warlord, but rather the bank that provides the payment portal..

I think it is not. I used to see the prices displayed in £, and when I pay with my credit card or Paypal, my credit card bank or Paypal does the exchange rate conversion, and charges a fee.

Now I see prices di…[Read more]

  • Yes Warlord prices have gone up and also switched to billing customers in their local currencies instead of in £. In my local currency prices have gone up by 50%. It is really madness and I have written in to them in this, but nothing has been done. Hopefully if enough people write in they may do somethig about it.

  • Yes and the world is also filled with teams who failed because the leader wouldn’t or couldn’t do a “lower” level task, with the excuse that it is not their role and they have more “important” things to do. Or are you saying it is OK for the NCO to be a loader but not a gunner?

Whatever the case the FAQ is out there until it is amended. But as I…[Read more]

  • Do explain how holding a rifle, pistol, SMG, BAR or LMG would affect the NCO’s “leadership”. But as I said, players can believe what they will, and if they want to blame, blame it on the way the rules or FAQs are written, not on “interpretation”. If they want to complain, submit it to Warlord Games. I for one am waiting to see how Warlord Games…[Read more]

  • Yes, that is indeed a contradiction. The only “work around” for now is for the NCO and another man to be upgraded with the LMGs, so that the remaining 2 men become the loaders. But that would risk losing both NCO and LMG should the NCO be taken out by sniper fire. We have to wait for the next FAQ to resolve this.
