Good response Nat, thanks.
I understand the rule for assaults, I’m asking a design philosophy question. If someone were to say “2 squads, if given a Snap To, should be able to Assault the same target simultaneously” how would you refute that statement………other than saying “that’s the rule”?
I’d like to see a Rules Committee made up of players that are in no way associated with Warlord or any other gaming company. The motivation for rules updates, amendments, new army lists, etc., will be to make the game better, not $.
used by another rules system & works very well.
Sorry, didn’t complete the question before I hit Submit.
Can the British unit “see” the French unit?
Big help Arcole, thanks.
Seems like a pretty powerful rule that required a bit of forensic reconstruction to put all the pieces together.
OK, I went to CoE and read the paragraph that Nat referenced. I’m still confused:
1. How many smaller units can be formed (CoE states two, three, or four – pretty nebulous)
2. What are the stats for the smaller units, specifically Hand-to-Hand value and Stamina?
Thanks Nat.
I mostly play Finns, and that would make a borderline OP unit just silly good.
I’d say no, you couldn’t transport a Kaukopartio unit on from the back edge. That ability is granted solely to the deep recon guys, not the transport.
Makes sense – thanks for the clarification.
What special rules (if any) would you use for the Danish/Swedish navies.
Captain Gual (and others): what stats would you give Gravina if he were in the game? Like many others, I’m a bit perplexed as to why he’s not included.
I think the restriction on 1st, 2nd, & 3rd rates is historical and not tied to the Over Fitted rule. In other words, you can’t take ships 3rd rate or bigger if you’re playing U. S., regardless of any upgrades.
“RN ships fired faster but less accurate”…..sounds like Jutland!
I understand the arguments & myths around this issue. My points is that a rule within a game system, the U.S. & Brits seem to have a real advantage over the French & Spanish without having to buy an upgrade.
Got it – thanks for the quick response.
If I get this right, the “free” French National Rule assesses a -1 penalty for Aim High instead of -2. The Brits & the U.S. “free” rule gives them a +1 for shooting; seems like one of the rules is more free than the other?
