Many years ago, I purchased my first wargame from the Age of Sail, “Wooden Ships and Iron Men” by Avalon Hill. It covered the same period of history as Black Seas and battles ranging from two combatants to whole fleets (Glorious First of June). Until the company folded, Avalon Hill published a gaming magazine that focused on it’s titles. “Wooden Ships and Iron Men” was a frequent subject and from time to time, new scenarios would be released. One of those articles was titled “A King’s Officer, The Battle of Richard Bolitho”. The article had 18 scenarios covering many battles described in the books. It was this article that enticed me to read the books authored by Alexander Kent and started a love for that period. I was thinking about converting those scenarios to Black Seas. Would anybody be interested?
