I thought you might be interested in a wild event in a game of ours. A US Destroyer Escort close to Japanese MTBs got a rudder hit and was forced to turn left. When it did, it crashed into a Jap MTB that was launching a torpedo!
The GM ruled that both the DE and the MTB suffer a full torpedo hit.

when the us de got a critical and it had to make a turn ( in this case it turned left) which then brought it into the path of a Japanese mtb the Japanese player would then roll to attempt to doge the collision , while the American player does not ( he does not have control of the vessel ) if the Japanese player succeeds the skill check no collision occurs but if failed a collision occurs roll for damage for both vessels no on the torpedo in water roll to hit with it if it hits if below 15 cm remove torpedo from table it is a dud since it was not armed , if range was over 15cm roll for damage , if it misses keep moving the torpedo until it either hits another target or reaches it range
