Has anyone done Jackson’s Valley Campaign? The units appear all to be very small with 3000 combatants spread over 5 and 6 regiments. Would you call them small units or adjust the game scale? If anyone has done this interesting campaign I’d love to see an example of your army lists.

The Glory Hallelujah supplement uses 425 men per battalion. The thing to remember is the artillery batteries need to be changed in proportion, again GH uses 3 or 4 guns per model, rather than the 6 usually used for Napoleonics.

As Garry says – work out an average size for whatever action you want to refight. That average is then the “standard”. Deviations from that then become large or small.
So if the average is 3000 / 5 = 600 men then that is the average. Then say 450 is small and 750 is large.
