hi guys,
if we play ad hoc battle (no scenario) what should be your recommendation for
a) table size (as 6×4″ looks small for 28mm figures )
b) number of units (not battalias) for that size of table
c) setup rules (where you can place your units before 1st turn)
do you have some suggestions?

a. Table size. Given the choice I would go for 8’ x 6’. 6’ x 4’ is ok, but perhaps better for smaller battles.
b. On a 6’ x 4’ I would go for something like 8-16 units per side on the assumption that your units are around 6” wide. On 8’ x 6’ you can go for a much larger number of units.
c. On a 6’ x 4’ I would either deploy 6” in from any edge, taking turns to deploy a battalia. An alternative is to move on to the table at the start of the game. In this second approach the player moving first has the advantage of being able to take ground / terrain features more easily, while the player moving second can react to the opponents deployment. On a larger table you can deploy 2’ in, or 1’, depending on how quickly you want to get to grips with each other.
