ParticipantHello again,
In the BP rules it says that artillery can be mounted on 40mm – 80mm width. I found the 80mm width allows me to put my gun, crew, and accessories all on that single base. It’s width is about the same as that of an infantry battalion in attack column. Is it okay to have my base that wide or am I going to suffer side effects by doing it this way?

ParticipantBP2 specifies that an artillery battery should be the same width as a small infantry unit.

ParticipantSqueezing artillery on to bases that are too small should be considered ‘weaselly’ and something akin to bowlers tampering with the ball in cricket – not done by gentlemen / gentlewomen. 😀

ParticipantI base my artillery on 45mm bases but sometimes it is difficult to get the whole crew on. In cases where I cannot get the whole crew on one base I will base the rest of the crew on a separate 15mm x 45mm base thus having a deeper profile rather than a wider one. I wargame in 28mm.
