    Hello could someone give me the basics to a HQ unit and the benefits they provide? I know a HQ,unit depending on the rank gives out orders but these orders still use up order dice or are they bonus orders?

    There are multiple types of HQ unit – Officers, Medics, Observers (air and artillery) Chaplains (introduced in one of the campaign books), possibly a few others also in campaign books. Each type has it’s own benefits.Most HQ rules are in the MRB, Headquarters, starting p82.

    Going by your subsequent questions, I think your main query is about officers? If so, officers provide the following benefits:

    Morale bonus (depends on rank) to any unit within their radius – 6″ for 1st and 2nd lieutenants, 12″ for higher ranks.

    Snap to it – a number of additional orders dice (depends on rank) may be drawn from the bag and allocated to units within range. They’re not bonus dice, you’re just bringing them forward rather than waiting for them to come up randomly.
