As far as I know, the starter sets will be changed as well, but it will take a little bit of time.
September 15, 2018 at 11:17 pm #146745BakblastParticipantWhen are the preorders being sent out?
September 24, 2018 at 8:52 am #147278Big AlParticipantSo, with the new book out, when will we see a new version of the QRS be available?
September 24, 2018 at 9:53 am #147290yeahmanParticipantRelease date is October 6th. It’s on the Facebook page.
September 24, 2018 at 9:57 am #147292yeahmanParticipantAlthough I’m hoping that’s the official sale date, and that the pre orders go out sooner, as it was on sale at the flippin open day. Just post them!
September 24, 2018 at 11:27 am #147309Big AlParticipantAh yes, I was forgetting. You see, I went to the Open Day on Saturday and picked. Up my preordercopy. I have already read through mine and am ready to go. Be@r in mind that I play a. Lot of BP and I only needed to look up the various differences and tweaks. Especially after my good long chat with the author. I am just geeing the guys up so that everything is ready for launch day!
September 24, 2018 at 1:40 pm #147344Charge The GunsParticipantHi Big Al. I hope you have got a good, thick, brown paper cover on the new rule book already? As I remember it you were going for the regular edition and I’m sure you don’t want to be staring at an evil dictator every time you pick the rule book up 😉
You should have come and said hello; I was on the P&S game. How did you find the Open Day? Any good gossip from RP?
September 24, 2018 at 2:35 pm #147354Big AlParticipantI did come and say hello. I just didn’t introduce myself with my forum name, which I now realise was a mistake. I was one of the first people to take a look at the table. One of you explained what was happening and told me all about the black flag. I was wearing a red hooded jacket.
Look, I am as disappointed by the cover as anyone, but I wasn’t going to bother with the expense of the deluxe version. Besides, I’m not interested in the cover, only what is inside! I finally bought Clash of Eagles instead.
By the way, I do have a French Army while my British are being finished.I was very excited by the Cruel Seas game. That is number one on my Christmas list!
Wish I had mentioned my forum name now. 🙁
September 24, 2018 at 9:32 pm #147388Charge The GunsParticipantHey, no problem – it is still good to know we did meet, even if not realising it! 🙂
Yes, Cruel Seas looks very cool. It is indeed very tempting!
September 24, 2018 at 10:52 pm #147392yeahmanParticipantI love the cover. It’s strange how it has divided opinions.
September 25, 2018 at 5:43 am #147401BakblastParticipantThe only thing wrong with the cover is…
He looks too grim
September 25, 2018 at 6:56 am #147404Dr DaveParticipantBut he’s (yet another) failed dictator wallah. It’s a bit like having that chap with the Charlie Chaplin complex on a cover of Bolt Action.
September 25, 2018 at 8:13 am #147405Big AlParticipantHehe! And he failed twice! He tried to make a comeback, remember?
September 25, 2018 at 4:30 pm #147443PeterParticipantI didn’t buy the limited edition because of Wellesley being on the cover 🙂 They should have had old Blucher too 🙂
thank goodness after the tyrant Nappy was beaten the …. ahem British traders empire promoted a time of peace and respect for all nationsmore importantly when will my pre order edition arrive till I peruse any changes. Whats your opinion so far Al ??????? Good choice clash of eagles too
September 25, 2018 at 7:52 pm #147451Big AlParticipantThe book is very pretty. Nicely laid out and much clearer. There is an index, too! The changes are pretty much what was mentioned in the interview. Not much else to add, other than fleshing out. The main change is to skirmishers and how they no longer affect artillery at longer ranges, and The evade rule, which is now the same as Hail Caesar.
Basically, if you play Black Powder, there is not that much to adapt to. Or rather, there are just a few tweaks to adjust to. It shouldn’t cause you too much trouble. -
