We’ve found, across BP and P&S, that once you’ve broken the seal (so to speak) on changing the turn sequence, then there are all sorts of interesting things you can do, as RR shows above. In BP we’ve also tinkered with changing the sequence for artillery, but not musketry.
As interesting as these things can be it does start to become confusing. For me the danger is losing the elegance of simplicity. Still, it is fun to experiment 😀.

It’s always struck me as odd that you advance against a prepared foe and you have the drop on him in the firefight. So as you plodded across the field to get within range what on earth was he doing?
