Looking through the miniature selection for the Hungarians, they pretty much look like they are using German equipment for the most part. Are they essentially German Grenadiers with mustaches and a couple select native vehicles?
March 1, 2020 at 2:21 pm #174752Paul NettleParticipantThe big difference is the weapons and the bag slung over the shoulder. German equipment (even the bread bag) was suspended from the harness, so the slung bag is the big visual difference.
And the colour scheme is totally different as well, of course.
Hungarian SMGs looked very different to German ones, but the LMG – at 28mm at least – looks very much like an MG34. Not an MG42 if you want late-war Hungarians.
I know a lot of people who have built Hungarian armies have mixed in German figures, and the versatile Warlord Games ‘winter Germans’ have even provided figures for my Romanian army.
