When this came up 3 of us just looked at each with dumb looks. We decided to go by exact wording
Here is situation. An SU-76 lobbed 2 indirects 2 turns in row at a unit and missed. Target unit decided to move out on same turn.
Case closed we thought. But on next turn target asked if he moves that unit back before SU fires could SU be considered
reset or since target in exact same spot would a 4 hit. We went naturally with it being reset . but we wanted to make sure .
Thanks ahead of time.

If it then moves to another “new” position, which “coincidentally” just happened to be a position it has occupied 2 turns ago, it should be reset because the unit has indeed moved, even though turn sequence wise the target might “appear” to have remained in the same position in consecutive turns if the luck of the Order dice draw would have it.

Actually, if you go with exact wording, someone can make a case that the unit does not count as moved. That is, if the unit moved on the second turn after taking the indirect shot, but then moved right back to the same area on the third turn before taking the indirect shot.
…and if the target unit has not moved from their position (to count as ‘moved’, the entire unit must be at least 2” away from the area that it was covering before),
That being said, I also agree that the shot is reset even though the target appears to have remained in the same area for consecutive turns. The condition was just a result of the random pulling of Order dice that created this unique situation. The unit did actually occupy two different areas (if at least 2″ away) on two different turns. Note that if just a part of the unit was still within 2″ of the area it moved from, it doesn’t count as moved.
