Can we get confirmation this is VAS v2 not a Warlord version – ie VASW1.0?
This is indeed VAS v2. Matt Sprange has confirmed it on the Mongoose Publishing forums.
April 30, 2020 at 10:34 am #177631NatParticipantIts sounding like there is a delay in release until June time, due to the whole Covid19 thing……be nice to have an offical comment one way or another even if its just a note on the webstore saying ‘Victory at Sea release is delayed due to Covid19 we will update with a new release date when we can’
April 30, 2020 at 6:00 pm #177633Greg SParticipantIt’s been 8 years since second edition VaS was announced, a few more months win’t make much difference. 🙂
May 1, 2020 at 8:48 am #177638NatParticipanttrue… but its more that they have a release date of ‘late april /early may’ on the kits..
May 1, 2020 at 11:18 am #177641RenkoParticipantI’ve spoken to a couple of people (no names, no pack drill) who should know and basically VAS is being postponed for some time. They’ve lost six weeks production time so there is no chance they can release as planned. Warlord are keen to get it out the door of course, and having seen both the models and the starter rules I can say they both look excellent, but these are difficult times and unforseen circumstances so we will have to wait a while yet. I’m sure it will be worth the wait
May 2, 2020 at 11:21 am #177652Greg SParticipantI too am sure it will be worth the wait. I love the original ( and its predecessor B5 ACTA) . I playtested this edition for Mongoose and worked on the points for ships. I really want to see the end result.
May 2, 2020 at 3:52 pm #177653DaleParticipantIt would be awesome if we could get a rules release for purchase on a platform like Drivethrurpg or something. We could at least start playing.
May 2, 2020 at 5:33 pm #177655RenkoParticipantPretty sure a pdf is planned
May 6, 2020 at 11:56 pm #178092EumerinParticipantOn April 27th, I spoke with someone via Facebook Messenger, and was told that they still expected to have the game out mid-May.
Make of that what you will.
If it’s delayed, then they should make a public announcement about the delay. Most players will be fairly forgiving, given the current world-wide state of affairs. Better to communicate and announce the delay – which players will forgive – than to keep players in the dark and uncertain, which will leave a bad taste in players’ mouths.

If these were normal times to an extent I would agree, however they are not. My understanding is that the whole staff have been furloughed so until very recently there is noone there to make decisions and announcements (or respond to forum posts). Under these circumstances I think we can all cut them some slack.
May 7, 2020 at 4:51 pm #178120EumerinParticipantThe Dispatch Center was reopened after just a brief closure. Regular posts pushing specific products are being made on the Facebook page every day. Somebody’s making decisions about the products to push on Facebook, and I doubt it’s the person actually putting the posts up.
Ergo, there’s still at least one decision-maker in the loop somewhere.
Further, while it is possible that no one is working in the offices right now (aside from the Dispatch Center), that doesn’t stop one of the higher-ups from saying, “We’re obviously not going to get this product out on time. I’ll reach out to the person running our Facebook page, and have them make an announcement.”
I’m hopeful that the lack of an announcement on the Facebook page means that they still hope to make the announced release window. I also, of course, acknowledge that it’s possible that they have already decided that they won’t. And if the latter is the case, I’m of the opinion that they should use the broadcast mechanism that they’ve been aggressively using during the current mess – i.e. Facebook – to get the word out.
May 7, 2020 at 4:55 pm #178121NatParticipantIrony factor … apparently the warlord spanish page has already announced it being pushed back to early june….
May 7, 2020 at 11:38 pm #178130EumerinParticipantCurious…
I took a quick look at the Warlord pages for Spain, Germany, and France. All three have quick updates on the situation at Warlord that were posted over the last several days. The Spain page is the only one that mentions VAS being delayed. The Bolt Action Stalingrad release going out gets mentioned in Spain and Germany (I don’t remember whether the France page mentioned it). Meanwhile, the posts on the English language page have all been advert blurbs and pictures (plus one memorial) for products that are already available. I’m left wondering why the English Facebook page doesn’t mention the company slowly restarting.
May 11, 2020 at 10:27 am #178155NatParticipantThank you WL! (not sarcastic)
VaS items on the store have been updated now to read
“Please note this is a pre-order product and is due to be released TBC. Any other products ordered at the the same time will be held until it is ready to go!”
May 13, 2020 at 1:53 am #178188EumerinParticipantNot sure what’s up, but I can’t seem to access Warlord’s English Facebook page. I get an error whenever I try and go there.
I did message the page again, though, and they confirmed what the Spanish page had announced – i.e. that the game wouldn’t be out until mid-June at the earliest. It was explained that due to difficulties in getting some of the components that were needed for the game parts.
