    Currently I am building a japanese army.  I have no idea on what their native irregulars would like and where to get figures for them.

    Since this is new army be prepared for lotsa rules questions.

    Thanks

    You are definitely talking about Bolt Action, not Samurais, right?

    @SteveT – yes, they are in Flames of Empire Book

    @Nick
    – As per the FAQ they dont get any army special rules….how ever you can get the Austrailian /British Native Irregulars, or get the Japanese Spearmen and remove the spears replacing them with rifles.

    They would be the people of the ‘greater east asia co-prosperity sphere’ who belived the Japanese properganda.  so Malays, Vietmienese, Indians, Koreans, etc

    OK, so you can get these from Warlord:

    These  match the description in the Empires in Flames book

    Here’s a suggestion, there are companies out there that cast 28mm scale Viet Minh for the French Indo China war of the late 40s and early 50s. I think some of those will be suitable?

    Thanks all.

    I didn’t have Empire in flames so didn’t see that.

    I looked into native irregulars for my Japanese.
    Quite a lot of the irregular units were equipped with Japanese kit and uniforms, but I wanted them to look different to the rest of my army, so used the Kachin militia set with the Burmese scouts and they look perfect against photos of Burmese pro Japanese militia.
