    In regards to Japanese SNLF squads, am I correct in building a Type B squad with 4 light mortars if no SNLF Grenadiers are in my platoon mix?

    From what ive read and understand, if you go with the mixed weapon squads 1944 on, you cannot field any grenidier squads but you gain the option to add “1 and only 1” knee mortar to each squad, with a second man becoming his assistant. No “4” mortars in a single squad.

    Darin is correct, it’s described in a text box on p22 of AoIJ under “Dual Weapon Squads (Late War)”.

    Ahh! I mis-read the description, thinking that the “Grenadier” squad was the Type B mix and the additional mortar was in addition to the Type B mix. No harm done. Thanks for the info.
