Laden token status – opinion request

Hi everyone,

I’m in the mood of creating some token to track the laden status during a game but as I didn’t experience the rule so far I’m asking those who already played it some advice about two specific points:
– what is better to use, a token to show that a plane has the laden status (then remove it once load dropped) or a token that show an unladen status (add it once load dropped. The former seems the most obvious one but maybe the second can be more relevant.
– what size is better to use ? I have 25 mm (1 inch) and 15-16 mm tokens available. The smaller ones may fit on the base but may be a bit too small and could be forgotten during play.

Please share your advices and experience.
