If one side wins melee but loses over 50% unit, does he still have to test to see if the squad is destroyed?

And if a building is attacked, how many people are allowed to join the fight? Since actually only 2 soldiers are allowed to shoot out of each window!
February 13, 2023 at 9:04 am #188744NatParticipant1, Moral tests dont take place in combat…. its like game of thrones – you win or you die :p

Admittedly, in our games, to speed up close combat, we’ve not worried about morale checks. If either side wins the assault battle and has just one figure left … we leave that figure there to mark the “win” … and as a gentleman’s agreement, that’s a holding of a position if there was a marker in the building, just to speed up play. YMMV … roll the morale with all the modifiers. I’ve usually put a lieutenant in the mix, and the assaulting force has to choose between the Officer or the Infantry Squad.

Where are you getting a morale test in close quarters? There is no morale check at the end of close quarters, if one side wins, they stay even if only one man. the side that loses dies, no possibility of hanging around by passing a morale check. If it’s a tie, and both sides have men remaining, it’s another round of combat until there’s a winner/only one side has models left.
The only tests that may be involved are possibly an order test when activating the unit that’s going to make the assault, and possibly a morale check on them as a result of casualties from reaction fire (if they lose 50% or more) – there is no morale check at the end of resolving the close quarters.
