The 10 infantry are hit with the result 6 on the preparatory bombardment chart:
A) all infantry models with 3+ penetration?
B) only 1 infantry model is hit with 3+ penetration?
Does the tank vehicle take +1 penetration because it is hit top armor?

If hit by a preliminary bombardment on a “6” we use the heavy howitzer template so any one under the template is hit with a 3+ pen. If a squad is hit by a heavy howitzer shell it seems daft that only one person is hit.
It is the same daft rule with minefields. Ten veterans advance into a 6″ by 6″ minefield so most will be standing on a mine. Roll a “5” and only one man is hit my a mine. It does make minefield clearing units useless.
