In the main rule book it says a recce vehicle that fails its order test goes backwards directly at advance speed with the pivots. This came up in a game with a greyhound with 2 pins. She couldnt pass her leadership and the vehicle kept going backwards for 4 rounds straight. Can it go off the board? Note she tried passing two rallies too and on the 4×4 board we were playing on she traversed quite a bit of it. Was this FAQ’d somewhere?

None of the relevant first edition wording was changed, so the second edition answer should be the same.
“If a unit rolls a Panic result on the FUBAR chart and is
really close to the edge, does it move off the table?
No, units cannot move out of the gaming area unless the
scenario includes rules on how to do so. So, a unit that rolls a
Panic result will flee along the table edge trying to get as far
as possible from the closest visible enemy unit.”February 28, 2021 at 8:21 am #184588SteeljackalParticipantIt is not need of FAQ, see Vehicle chapter, “Vehicles and norders” paragraph “…if it reaches the table edges, then it move as far as it can and goes DOWN…”

So the vehicle will hit the edge of the table and then start driving backwards across the field along the table edge until it finally passes an orders test? Seems a bit weird that a unit would drive in reverse around the field continuously even possibly towards the enemy. (She failed 2 rally orders and three advances with only 2 pins)
March 1, 2021 at 2:33 pm #184633NatParticipantThey hit to board edge and travel 0″, they dont slide along the edge
March 1, 2021 at 5:42 pm #184635SteeljackalParticipantWhy they have to slide along the edge? 😅 rules don’t say this, just read vehicle chapter. As Nat wrote, hit the edge or impassable obstacle and stop.
