Sacred Band and duels

Hello everyone! We are new to the game in my community, and as I’m playing with thebans, there is something I can’t understand in the rules. When reaching the melee, you can ask your enemy for a duel, hero VS hero. The sacred band is listed also as one hero unit, with a pair of fighters and 100 points cost. It seems like they are counted as one hero, so do they fight together VS the hero of your opponent, or you must choose only one of the partners to do it? Thanks in advance!

Hm, historicaly the pair was a Veteran and a Trainee. In fighting and :::: ahem:

Normally the boy would get in the way in a pair action?

I assume that they act individually, you only buy them as a pair. The only rules tying them together are purchasing and their Special ‘Sacred Oaths’ rule.
I could be wrong, but that makes sense to me.
