I remembered that the Australian Army lost a war against Emus just before WW2.
And I thought it would be awesome if there were rules for an Emu force.
Like have 1 maybe 2 unit choices total, no Missile fire, and a Hero or 2 being simply better Emus (Matriarch/Patriarch types).

Rules about speed/evasion and hand to hand combat.

Anyone got any ideas on stats etc?

Spit ball of an idea here……

    EMUs –
    children @5 points – DV 4+
    adults @ 6points – DV 5+
Agressive Adults @ 7points – counts as softkin (DV 6+)

all EMUs have: trail walker – count rough ground as open
    tough fighter
    Move 8″
    Ld 10
PEN +1 v units with a DV 5+ or less
Tank Hunter (but can still only do superfical damage)
    Rece
units that have children have the special rule – fight or flight: MUST rece away if shot or charged unless there is agressive adults between the target and shooting /charging unit.
Agressive Adults have a rule that means they will charge a unit that attacks a friendly unit with children if they dont already have an order die next to the unit.

HQ – Agressive Adult, maybe accomplined by 2 other birds (any age)

    Units: family herd – 2 -6 adults and 0 -10 children
    young adults – 3 -15 adults

If you create mixed units (models with different damage values), you’re going to have to deal with the rules issues this creates – probably the reason they’re specifically banned.

ie: You shoot at them, score 10 hits – do you allocate the hits via some method then roll for damage separately? Do you roll all hits against just the highest/lowest damage value (and if you score more kills than there are models with that damage value, does the excess flow through to models with the higher/lower value, or are those ‘kills’ wasted?)?

If it were me, I would give all emus DV 3+. Emus don’t duck after all.

I see this more of a challenge to the Aussie player of a solo game. Several large herds roam the board. A just a few infantry squads try and destroy them in 6 turns. But the emus recce constantly. And occasionally attack if the Aussies get too close. If after 6 turns, the emus are still on the board, the Aussies lose.

I would go to more BA events if I could play Emus
