    Are the named ships in the book, eg Victory allowed to take upgrades as I feel some of them already seem to be upgraded etc ?

    as a follow up it seems so riduiculous that constitution can take overgunned and have the same broadside as a 1st rate !

    Yeah that makes no sense: the ship is over gunned already… surely

    Hero ships can’t have upgrades
    So no 1st rate constitution!

    Ah yes I have found it in the rules,its not very well presented though as it is an important rule!

    following on then with the “famous Ships” cannot have upgrades having looked at the HMS Royal Sovereign on the website the card seems to have the stats of a generic 1st rate so can she have upgrades or is classed as a famous ship ?

    If not then a generic 1st rate with 4 upgrades would be a better choice which again seems poor rules wise ?

    A generic ship with 4 upgrades would be very expensive
