Waffen SS Cavalry / French Chasseurs

Hi
Has anyone tried to make Waffen SS Cavalry using a combination of SS infantry figure and French Chasseur? It looks possible and as I have four Chasseurs and three spare horses it seems a shame to waste them. If nobody has tried this yet will let you know how I get on.

Napoleonic Chasseur horses and rider legs? The horse tack and saddle cloth are so far away from German WW II that it is a lot of work.
