We’re still recovering from our manic Open Day last weekend – here’s a round-up of what we got up to – including the live streams!
Games and Good Times!
Setting Sail into the Blackest of Waters
We had a whale of a time previewing our new naval combat game Black Seas.
Author of Black Seas, Gabrio Tolentino and studio head Paul Sawyer also sat down to discuss some of the mechanics of the forthcoming Napoleonic Naval Combat Game:
Look for more on Black Seas in the coming weeks!
MiGs and Sabres
We were also showcasing our first foray into the jet age with MiG Alley! for Blood Red Skies.
The introduction of jets in MiG Alley seriously changes the dynamic of dogfights. The set is available for pre-order now and in local stockists this August!
New Releases
Of course, the Open Day also marked the release of our brand new ancient world warband skirmish game SPQR:
Interested in forming your own ancient warbands? The Clash of Heroes starter set gives you all you need to get raiding in no time! Or see the whole collection.
Participation Games
There were a whole host of other participation games to try out on the day. This is just a small selection:
In Full Swing
The event wasn’t limited to playing games. There were seminars, tours, studio previews and all manner of hobbyists to interact with. Whether they be gamers, painters, designers or writers; they truly showcased what makes this hobby so fantastic.
The below video gives a brief overview of the day; and also contains some cheeky sneak peeks at things to come! We hope you don’t find them ‘Dredd’ful – sorry.
The Studio Team
Our illustrious studio team were on hand demonstrating painting, sculpting and the design work that goes into creating all our miniatures.
They were only too happy to help in showcasing techniques and offering advice, as well as showing off a few things that we have in the pipeline!
Open Day Seminars 2019
A number of Seminars took place over the course of the day. A couple were even live-streamed! As well as the Black Seas seminar linked above, you can also see Warlord co-founders John Stallard and Paul Sawyer delve into our humble beginnings and answer questions on what’s to come for Warlord Games.
Phew! That’s it for one year. We would like to thank everyone who made this an epic day for all.
Let’s do it again next year!
