We’ve been champing at the bit to reveal this latest Pike & Shotte preview to you. We’re happy to present our own John Stallard’s personal hero and pin-up boy of the English Civil Wars – Prince Rupert:
Rupert was appointed to lead the Royalist cavalry by Prince Charles in 1642. Nicknamed the ‘Mad Cavalier’, our model quite properly depicts him with his white hunting poodle ‘Boye’ who regularly accompanied him into battle.
Rupert was a towering 6′ 4″ by the time he was 18 and he racked up an impressive military record logging victories at Powick Bridge, Bristol, Newark, and York among others. Headstrong and occasionally reckless, Rupert served as a General of Horse and later as a General of the Royalist army.
Make sure you keep an eye on the Warlord webstore to get Prince Rupert onto the tabletop as soon as he is released.
We’ll soon have a preview of Rupert’s counterpart – the Earl of Essex so stay tuned!
