We persuaded Alessio Cavatore to write this brand new scenario for your Terminator Genisys games – and we’ve created a special Objective Assault bundle deal to help you gather everything you need (scroll down for details…).
SURGICAL STRIKE – The Mission
As part of the preparations for the assault on Cheyenne Mountain and LAX airport, John Connor has assigned a vitally important mission to Captain Montero’s strike team. The small Resistance team is to attack and destroy the radar installation covering the airspace over the Cheyenne Mountain base. That way, Skynet will not pick up the wave of air assets that will be inbound to give air support to the main Resistance force that is about to storm the Machines facility.
Assemble Forces
Resistance Player
1 Resistance Captain, 2 Resistance Soldiers with grenade launcher, 2 Resistance Soldiers with rocket launcher, 2 Resistance Soldiers with sniffer dog and shotgun, 7 Resistance Soldiers with plasma gun, 2 Resistance Soldiers with assault rifle, 1 Truck with HMG, a 2nd TDD agent (upgraded to D12).
Feel free to use a different mix of Resistance, as long as the total points values come to a maximum of 500 points.
Machines Player 2
You have 5 Endoskeletons with plasma guns, 1 Endoskeleton with two plasma rifles, 1 Endoskeleton with full command array, 1 Endoskeleton with a flamethrower and 1 Endoskeleton with a rocket launcher, also the default TDD is upgraded to a D12.
Feel free to use a different mix of Machines, as long as the total points values come to a maximum of 500 points.
Terrain
The play area represents a Skynet radar installation and its perimeter defenses. Set up the Radar Station in the centre of the mat and the anti-tank obstacles and barbed wire all around it, at least a run template away, forming a roughly circular or square perimeter.
Objectives
Resistance Player
Primary Objective: Destroy the Radar
The Resistance must destroy the radar – see scenario special rules. You achieve this objective if, by the end of the game, the radar has been completely destroyed.
Secondary Objective: Damage the Radar
You achieve this objective if, by the end of the game, the radar has been damaged.
Machines Player
Primary Objective: Protect the Radar
You achieve this objective if, by the end of the game, the radar has not been destroyed nor damaged.
Secondary Objective: Terminate attackers
You achieve this objective if, by the end of the game, all Resistance models are dead.
Deployment
The Machines Player deploys first, placing all of his models within the perimeter delimited by the obstacles. Resistance models are not deployed and enter the battle as described for the Incursion set-up (see page 50 of the rulebook), except that they can enter from any point on any table edge.
Tactical Edge
In the first turn of the game, the Resistance player automatically rolls the first Fate die.
Game End
At the end of the fifth turn of the game, the player with the Tactical Edge rolls a D4, if the result is 4, the game ends.
If the game continues, at the end of the sixth turn, the player with the Tactical Edge rolls a D6, if the result is 4 or more, the game ends.
If the game continues, at the end of the seventh and following turns, the player with the Tactical Edge rolls a D20, if the result is 4 or more, the game ends.
Victory!
When the game ends, the player who has achieved his side’s primary objective wins the game. If the player has just achieved his secondary objective, the game results in a minor victory for that player. It is entirely possible for either player to achieve his secondary objective only, which results in a minor victory. If neither side has achieved their primary or secondary objectives when the game ends, then the result is a draw.
Special Rules
Attacking the Radar
The Resistance must destroy the radar. This is done exactly as described in the Demolish mission on page 48 of the rulebook, except that the first time a model detonates a charge by moving away, the radar is just damaged. The second time this happens, the radar is destroyed.
Anti-tank obstacles & barbed wire
Anti tank obstacles are size 1 barriers, but they count as impenetrable terrain for vehicles and open terrain for non-vehicles.
Strips of barbed wire are size 1 barriers, but they count as impenetrable terrain for Resistance non-vehicle models and open terrain for everything else. They don’t provide any cover.
