Army Painter Battlefields XP: Tufts are a quick and easy way of adding that finishing touch to the bases of your models. They’re simple to use – check out this quick tutorial for yourself…
Our Warlord Games plastic Roman Legionary has been painted and is ready for basing. Paint on PVA glue with a brush.
Take your flat-nosed Hobby Pliers and pluck up a lump of tuft and attach it to the wet PVA glue.
Dip your base into the flock – in this case Battlefields Grass Green flock (of course, you can use any combination of flocks or battleground basing). After a few minutes you can touch up the side of the base with Army Painter Warpaints Brown.
The three different Tufts available at the moment; Jungle Tuft, Highland Tuft and Swamp Tuft.
To help you decide what Tuft colour is best for your army check them out on the bases of our noble Roman legionaries. Indeed, mixing the Tuft in a regiment can add an even more realistic effect. Note that Winter Tufts will be released in January 2011.
